star rating  A perfect week on a charming liveaboard with an great crew! - I spent an amazing week on the Junk on a trip to the Similans and Surin Islands. The boat has a lot of history and charm, that totally makes up... read more for the cabins being not super luxurious. But with your own bathroom, A/C and a comfortable bed it's all you need on a liveaboard for a good night after diving.
The whole crew is absolutely amazing and they do everything to make your trip even more perfect.
The cruise director Brian made sure everyone feels comfortable on board and provided us with detailed, also funny briefings. My dive guide Ayako showed me so many cool, sometimes super tiny marine life, I would have never found that cool stuff by myself!
Safety and equipment are a top priority, and the food amazing.
We had super conditions even it was the last trip of the season. Visibilitiy was always between good and excellent, the dive sites worldclass, especially the Similans and Richelieu Rock.
Last but not least, price value is really good, even airport pick-up and a torch for the nightdives are included.
I had a great time and can really recommend The Junk to everyone!

star rating  Fanatic diving with an amazingly attentive crew - Great liveaboard. (I’ve been on 12, am Padi Rescue) The dive guides (especially Jai!) we’re really amazing. The pointed out a lot of things to notice and gave us space... read more to truly look at something if we wanted. We had small groups and a lot of personal attention. I was worried that since I was in the boat with a bunch of friends who were snorkeled or OW I would be very displeased with the dive quality but cruise director Brian did an excellent job picking sites so I was very happy with the quality of dives.

The boat is very clean and well maintained. There are a lot of public areas. They have out a lot of thought into little details like having clips for each person to have things dry on railings and a number bottled system so you always have water and can find yours and aren’t creating plastic waste. A truly well thought out operation.

The cabins with ensuites are small and cramped compared to the newer boats. I spent very little time in the cabin so it wasn’t a big deal. Bed was comfortable enough and they did get me another pillow when I asked for a second.

The food was good and plentiful. Lots of options every meal.

The crew is outstanding. I don’t how I’ll get into my wetsuit without Hem to help me now! Every crew member was smiling and attentive. They were really excellent to be around and made the wonderful diving even better.

When underwater we saw other boats with 10ish divers with one DM. It was a sh*t show. That made me even more grateful for how wonderful the small groups and attentive guides were on the Junk. Highly recommend for Similan and Surin Trip!

star rating  Amazing! - Spending 6 days on The Junk was one of the best dive experiences I've had. The diving is beautiful, with healthy reefs and an abundance of fish and marine life,... read more and the sites we visited were quiet and didn't have tonnes of other divers on them (with the exception of Richelieu Rock, but that was still fantastic). The boat itself is also great - really comfortable, great bunks, hot showers, places to relax, and plenty of room for gear and kitting up.

What really made the experience great though was the people. The crew and dive staff were all amazing - friendly, welcoming, smiling, knowledgeable - their attitude was infectious and it made for such a wonderful week! I honestly don't have any bad thing to say about The Junk, and I'd love to do the whole thing over again one day!

star rating  The wonderful dive team and crew of the Phinisi deliver a product that makes for a memorable holiday. - I have just finished a 6 day live aboard on the Phinisi led by Neil and his excellent dive team and boat crew. We motored up the Similans to the... read more Surin islands concluding out trip at the mind blowing and beautiful Richlieu Rock. The diving, briefings, support and experience was magical. The food was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Our cabin for my son and myself was cosy and comfortable with a decent en suite shower. The salon/briefing area was full of cushions and places to relax in the shade or there was a spacious sun deck and also a wet thought out dining area in a horse shoe arrangement. 6 Days and 19 dives with something memorable from all of them. Just the little touches made the whole experience so complete. One of the crew could see in a couple of days that I was a touch fatigued gearing up on the later day dives and was on hand to assist. The staff always had a smile. I took my Advanced and Nitrox certification and my dive guide genuinely cared about that process and went at our pace and our confidence as the Group who were learning soared through the week, Towards the end were tacking some quite advanced dives including difficult currents and night dives. Surfacing at a reef as the sun had set and the stars were rising in a beautful sky and bobbing about comparing notes on the dive just summed it up. 15 very happy people left that boat after 6 days - a diverse and great gang of guests. I would not hesitate to sail on this boat again for this circuit or the Southern one they also offer. A very special experience. The daily rhythm on the boat was so well organised - clearly huge amounts of effort behind the scenes to deliver food, comfort and a dive experience at this level. I felt like was part of a special family on an adventure for 6 days. I left utterly satiated with the whole experience
